THE CATACLYSM

It is often wondered, the set off of the seemingly unending clash amongst various entities in the general space time continuum.

The cause of the still very much ongoing disturbance in the area beyond planets has indeed served as a huge form of puzzlement for ages.

What could have possibly triggered this unforgiving resentment amongst three rival factions that otherwise never encounter one another?

Now to have the answer to the apparent biggest question of the galaxy, a story must be told and this story begins with the collision of eight incongruous planets. Well one rogue planet wontly incompatible with seven other child planets.

If there truly was a beginning to the madness of the war amongst factions, or if we could at least attempt to identify where it all began, I guess we could say it was from the moment rogue planet Iris clashed into trivial planets Nova, Barlow, Graze, Celestede, Focal, Kuklos and Solstice.

It’s safe to say Iris in all of her loneliness and vagrantness had somehow collided into the aforementioned little planets in their own remote area of space resulting in what would recurringly be known as ‘The Cataclysm.’

Naturally, the very idea of rogue planets carelessly roaming through space without much of a purpose is a rather dangerous one.

So unavoidably, the mere existence of Iris was upsetting in space.

Now, Iris carried a lot more than she let on as a random planet. She could be likened to the outcast that no one really ever wanted to be around but unknown to the rest, she carried unforeseen treasures within.

In simpler terms, Iris was filled with quite a number of invaluable materials. If she were human, she would obviously be a lady, albeit a misfit at that. A lady called Iris, a misfit that no one knew was loaded with precious commodities.

Our seven other trifling planets seemed to be insignificant and rather mediocre when left on their own. They never really stood out as individual planets. It was always usually those seven child planets in that remote area.

But they were single planets that stood on their own….not that anyone really cared to know.

They were -Planet Barlow, Planet Focal, Planet Kuklos, Planet Graze, Planet Celestede, Planet Solstice and Planet Nova of the Vacuum region.

On their own, each of these eight wandering stars were nothing at all more than ordinary.

The real spectacle was in the combination of all eight of them together.

Collectively, their collision led to the birth of a wondrous form of free energy. A remarkable creation that resulted in a massively valuable debris field that could very barely be comprehended.

Hence, the intergalactic emergence of ‘The Cataclysm.’

And that’s only just the beginning of the story.

The real commotion started when an unsuspecting deep space explorer discovered what we now know as The Cataclysm and at the very core of Star Atlas laid a treasure trove of utterly priceless data. Just imagine the wonder of it all.

Naturally, our newly introduced Space explorer who had now discovered a wealthy and grand creation to indeed explore was awestruck. And not just by the energy ball that was the Cataclysm, but also by the pristinely formed debris field in the Star Atlas’ central axis.

Picture this.

Iris independently, was already filled with uncomprehedable riches. Now with the combination with other planets, the outcome was something seemingly hallucinogenic.

Which kind of explains why our unnamed space hero immediately thought of all of the colossal acquisitions he could attain from sharing his new discovery to the rest of the galaxy. For a certain price of course.

If only he wasn’t so gluttony with his new found information.

Hence, the first Ponzi scheme to take place in space. A Pyramid scheme that led to the intergalactic war of ages.

After scanning the riches of the Cataclysm and creating the first ever intergalactic data block, aforesaid space expedition being went ahead to sell the invaluable information of the existence of the Cataclysm to not just one, but three entirely different space discords.

And if hell was in space, it probably would be in the very midst of the vanguard war of the three outraged factions.

To the absolute obscurity of each faction, the information of the Cataclysm data drop had been sold to all of them with the impression that each of their space communities were the sole owners of the precious commodities.

And with each one of them wholly unwilling to back down from the area, of course the war of wars commenced. With the space explorer much long gone and thriving in his deceit.

Outer space has it’s own wars too that practically all of the celestial bodies feel.

Now that the question of how the war started has been answered, the fresh frain to be considered is ‘How do we stop this gory war?’

And even more importantly, ‘Is the war of the Cataclysm ever going to end?’
